Foot Reflexology

Reflexology is a non-invasive practice that helps activate the body's healing powers. It helps people come into better balance by boosting one's health, reducing stress, and alleviating pain and other chronic conditions.

Some benefits of Reflexology include the following:

  • Improves blood circulation and lymphatic flow

  • Boosts the immune system

  • Reduces stress and anxiety

  • Improves sleep

  • Balances hormones

  • Helps to alleviate chronic conditions/pain

  • Revitalizes energy

  • Useful for preventive health care

Reflexology is performed by applying pressure techniques to stimulate specific reflex areas on the feet. The sensory nerve endings in the feet send information to the spinal cord and brain. In response, the brain and spinal cord send instructions to the organs, glands, and muscles. The neural pathways are living tissue with electrical channels that can become impaired or disrupted by many factors. When neural pathways are impaired, nerve function is impeded, and messages are not delivered adequately, causing the body's processes to operate at less than optimum levels.

The feet have over 14,000 nerves. Applying the techniques used in Reflexology encourages the opening and clearing of neural pathways so that the body can be in a state of homeostasis and perform physiological functions optimally.
